BLACK BALLOON DAY

HONORING LIVES LOST TO OVERDOSE

WHAT WE STAND FOR

Black Balloon Day is observed annually on March 6 to honor those lost to overdose, raise awareness, and support families affected by substance use. Established in 2015, this day is a time for reflection, remembrance and community action.

WAYS TO PARTICIPATE

GET INVOLVED
  • Hang a black balloon outside your home every year on March 6th. We ask our members and to all those who participate on black balloon day to NOT release your balloons. Simply hang it on a mailbox or wherever you’d like. Releasing is bad for the environment.

  • Join the community gatherings for Black Balloon Day to honor lives lost, support families, and raise awareness about the overdose crisis.

  • Your voice matters. By sharing your personal experience, you help break the stigma and bring hope to others affected. Use #BlackBalloonDay to help bring community awareness to the movement.

  • Contribute to local and national efforts - whether through donations, volunteering, or advocacy to strengthen prevention and recovery resources.
